The development of the SHINY MEADOW Fresh Milk's Roof Package was a collaborative effort led by designer Li Huang and project partner Di Chen. The project followed a comprehensive design process, including project approval, brainstorming, design proposal, consumer research, product commercialization, and marketing.
The design project was initiated on January 6, 2020, in Shanghai, China, and was completed on May 8, 2020, in the same location. Throughout the project, extensive consumer research was conducted to understand consumer preferences and purchasing behavior. The findings revealed that consumers are drawn to pure, simple, and fresh packaging designs that clearly convey product information and establish a connection with the category. The inclusion of milk and dairy cattle patterns in the design resonated well with consumers, while the color white emerged as the preferred choice, symbolizing purity, softness, freshness, and the absence of additives.
The SHINY MEADOW Fresh Milk's Roof Package design overcame several challenges during its development. Through consumer research, it was discovered that consumers preferred impactful, premium, and easily identifiable designs, avoiding overly complicated patterns and cartoons. The color scheme was carefully chosen to maintain a sense of premiumness, with green color usage avoided to prevent any decrease in perceived value.
